Don't give birth here. Baby and I almost died, and was I was laughed at in ICU while they were stitching me up.
I had a knee cap joint replacement, performed by Mr Ellapparadja.
On July 9th 2023.
It's now, 4th of September, 8 weeks post op and I am feeling fantastic, throughout the whole proceedure, from start to finish. The surroundings, care by staff, total understanding from my consultant Mr Ellapparadja.and a excellent team especially anesthetics. I am no longer in any pain and I am free to go back to work and live my life.
Can't thank them all, enough for the life change this has given me .
Refused colonoscopy on the grounds that due to work commitments I could not attend hospital during the week to pick up medication. I was told that the medication could not be posted to me in case my (non-existent) children might pick it up (I have no children). When I offered to collect the medication on another day at any local NHS establishment, this was refused with no reason given. Instead of help and support, I was met with the threat of referral back to my GP, delaying cancer checks. Everything that is wrong with the NHS, in a nutshell.
It's a shame. In the past I *have* had much better experiences and I know the hospital has some great consultants. Management lets it down.
Better care for mental health
my only suggestion would be the availability of ice packs on the orthopedic ward.
The team on DSEU were superb. The nurses ensured my pain relief was regular and appropriate and the HCAs were happy and kind. Food was deicious. Nothing was too much trouble for everyone. The service was better than private hospital. I felt my care was personalised professional and perfect. Tameside has improved dramatically since my last experience in 2010. Well done. A 1st class experience
Excellent care throughout my stay in hospital, also as an outpatient visiting.
I HAD A RIGHT FULL KNEE REPLACEMENT, THE KNEE IS A TOP JOB AND VERY COMFY IN 6 WEEKS, I HAD A FEW COMPLICATIONS AFTER WARDS PASSING WATER AND RETURNED TO HOSPITAL WHERE I WAS TREATED REALLY WELL,
Obviously the waiting times are not acceptable as with other hospitals, but the care and attention was good. I cannot recommend highly enough the Orthopaedic Surgeon who performed my surgery.
Absolutely disgraceful place wouldn't call it a hospital as there is no care what so ever leaving my mum who has cancer in kidney liver and pancreas and also diabetes with blood sugar of 30 nurse from doctors phoned ambulance at 14.00 which turned up at 16.18pm not forgetting she only had breakfast at 11am and they tested her blood sugars which did come down she was discharged at 2am not forgetting she is 75 years of age too absolutely disgusting NEVER AGAIN AVOID AT ALL COST!!!!!!!
